Will the flowmaster exhaust kit fit a 93 6.5? If so it's not a bad deal at summit for $115. The kit said 95 to 98. Any ideas?:D

It fits 94-up fine. 92-92 had a two bolt exhaust flange, instead of a four bolt flange on the 94-up, that's the only difference. If your making your own custom downpipe back system(stacks,etc..) this is a great kit, good quality, fits like a glove.

You can weld your 92-93 flange to the flowmaster DP, or join your exhaust another way(strap clamp, v-band clamp, weld, etc..).

i bought a crossover and downpipe off of flebay was told it would fit. yes it fits but you will have to cut the downpipe and weld on the old flange. it made quite a difference on my truck even tho i still have a small exhaust 2-1/2" od. will be doing a 3.5" exhaust soon.

What flanges are we talking about? The flanges on the exhaust manifolds or the flange on the back of the turbo?

I just want to do the best upgrade first. I wanting to make sure that it is the exhaust upgrade is the best to start with. What do you guy's think?

Under the truck where the DP meets the rest of the exhaust, beside the transmission. The upper part is the same on all 6.5TD trucks.

Why will the above not work with a '93?

Just trying to understand if the crossover pipe will work & if the down pipe will fit on the back of my turbo. If it is the flang at the end of the down pipe that connects to the rest of the exhaut, I could just cut that off & work something else in.

I am not sure but x-over should not have any problem.. Most of the time, the problem is more of rusted part and you cannot take it out cleanly hence the need to replace the whole exhaust system. But you are in GA, so that should not be a problem.

If the crossover above will work on a '93 6.5L turbo diesel. Than what part of the down pipe will not? Because if the part of the down pipe to the right in the above picture that connects to the rear of the turbo will work, than I can just cut off the other end if that is what want work. Who has used this complete kit on a '93?

Yes you can do that. Cut it off and weld the flange from the stock down pipe on it.

After I cut the flange off, I want need to weld the stock flange on the new down pipe if I install some other type of after market exhaust system. Would this be the cheepest & best way to go? Since I'm not sure how I want my new exhaust to run. (ex. Stack, before rearwheel, after rearwheel, straight out the back)

Am I correct in my thinking of how to install this kit?

I was rotating my tires sat. morning & decieded to remove my stock muffler & exhaust pipes. Boy is it ever loud with just the stock down pipe. I can't stand it in the cab with the windows up runnin 70mph. So I put the pipe that connects the down pipe to the muffler back on & it is better but you can't hear the turbo wine as well, like you can with just the down pipe.

Does anyone have or know were to find some pictures of how they installed their exhaust stack thru the bed? I'm wanting some ideas to see if I want a stack or just run straight pipe out the back.

Got a piece of pipe yesterday for $25 to put on my stock exhaust in place of the muffler. But it is 2.5 & had to be flared enough to fit over my 2.75 stock pipe so I will be able to put the clamps on. I think it will be a nice straight pipe setup until I able to get the crossover pipe & down pipe & make a decision on how I want the rest of my exhaust to be setup. I also got a free 5inch stack that I may want to install. Who knows of where I can the parts that I will need to install the stack. I thinking about a 3inch down pipe to 4inch pipe to a 5inch stack. But I need to know how is the best way to go about installing the stack & how to do this type of exhaust. What kind of ideas do you guys have about this?

I have a Heath three inch on the 97 in sig ,no cat .I would say it is as quiet in the cab as the OEM system was. I personally would want no more noise than the OEM system since I tow heavy.Another website recently reported changing to a high doller after market system on on a Duramax and had no improvement on a Dyno in performance/MPG. I intend to use a used Duramax muffler/tailpipe & fab a front pipe on the 2000 I'm building.I love cheap if it's good stuff.
