How can I remove the dealership logo from the tailgate? I'm sure there has to be a simple way to do this without worrying about damaging the paint.

From what I can tell, your decals on your tailgate are vinyl(?). If so, a heatgun/hairdryer will soften up the adhesive enough for you to get a handle on it, and peel it right off. Just don't overheat the decal, it could make a mess. Then a little adhesive remover, to remove residue. Follow that with some cleaner-wax, and it'll look like it was never there.

I remove all dealership logo's as well. No free advertising with me.

Agreed. I always take an old credit card out of the wallet and slide against the decal. Then wax over it to get the adhesive residue off. Works for me. Don't see any scratches.

Ever have a dealer put their logo on when in for service. Mine did that till I had a decal made and said ' If dealer logo is here again then I will never be back '. Works pretty good. They even goto the trouble to remove someone elses logo and put theirs on it.

The way I got rid of my dealership logo was I put a 3 thousand pound pallet of concrete in my bed and then floored it watched the pallet shoot to the back of the truck. The tailgate was bent right in half...solves that problem. Ordered a new tailgate through ebay 450 bucks later. I highly recommend this method to everyone!

Try this...

I've used them to take decals off of fire trucks, etc.

Thanks. Sounds easy enough to do. I have some vinyl stickers on my hood that are cracked and fading. I'm assuming I can do the same thing to get these off.

Best thing I have found is the car wash for removing them. Use the self service ones to remove the decal. Summer time is the best. After it has been sitting in the sun for a while to heat it up use the sprayer closely to the vehicle and wash it off. There is enough pressure in these to do a good job. If you don't let the sun bake it first it can leave glue marks which can be removed with a cleaner.

Thanks for the replies. I was a little worried about scratching the paint but it sounds like they come of easily. Thanks

Park it in the sun x3 on the fingernail, I have debadged 2 trucks this way, a little more tedious on the double sided tape but still works, can also use wd40 or Goo Gone
