I took off the first three bolts holding the glow plug controller on the metal bracket and that was wicked easy. then I try to get the back two bolts and...WTF how do you get them off? I tried socket with universal joint and small wrenchs but I just cant cram my hand in there and function.
I tried taking the fprv off without removing the bracket and using an 18mm open ended wrench with a cheeter and the dang thing wouldnt turn. is this thing left hand threaded or something?
I guess I just need some help with this one.
thanks!

I used a ratchet wrench to get the glow plug controller bolts out... but I still ended up having to pull the rail to get the FPRV out. It was a PITA but well worth it. good luck

what they said.....it's a bitch to get off but once its all done you will be very happy. i had cuts all over my hands getting the back bolts off. i actually left one off because i got tired of fighting it trying to get it back on.

If you cant get an impact ratchet in there then start doing your arm exercises, It can be a tight one!
BTW do you need to shim your FPRV? If you arent getting 0087 codes yet i WOULDNT mess with it unless you are sure it needs shimmed.
I just went thru all this, finally got mine to seal up.

I can hear the fprv lift and a whistle sound when I am running at 160,000 kPa or around there. but I am not getting any codes because I am stuffing the fuel to it at the same rate that it is leaving via the fprv. if I shim the fprv then I can get higher fuel rail pressure. plus once it pops it gets easier to pop it, I have heard.
I will just try harder...hopefully that can of whoop a$$ I have been saving for a rainy day hasnt expired yet!

A cute trick on the glow plug bracket is to take a 24" pry bar and simply open it up to allow acess to the bolts... Bend the chicken plucker dood...
As for the FPRV take my word get a good quality 18mm six point socket 1/2" drive (prefer an impact type and short) and get a long handle 1/2" drive breaker bar and the "hand of god" will be yours... Do the shim and replace the FPRV then sell the tool to someone on here that needs it... :D
BTW just mount the glow plug controller on the stud just above it with the ground strap on it... You may have to reroute the wires going to it for slack to do the mount but you`ll find it to be alot easier to work in that area and you dont have to mess with the silly bracket...
