Looking to put a Duramax powerplant in my 98 GMC 3500 350 Vortec 2 wheel drive dually. Has anyone done this conversion?

Do a search on www.trucktrend.com (http://www.trucktrend.com) . They have been developing a hot rod style 1500 chevy pickup, I think it might be like a 94 or something, but they should have a bunch of links to people or companies that could help. It's worth a shot!

You might be stuck with a ZF I don't know if an ally will fit with those frame rails.

Before getting my 05 i thought of this also, my idea was to find a salvaged or wrecked 01-new duramax truck and put my 96 body on it. Just a thought dont know if it would work, IMO the box style chevy (96-98...the lights and a few other changes) is the best looking style since 1973! :ro) :ro)

The owner of the diesel page is going this with an older 1/2 ton, I think you need to pay the rip off rate of $20 to read about it. He did claim that the setup was going to be a racer with 600+ rwhp. I havn't followed the story since getting booted a couple years ago.
