Hey guys, i have a 2006 GMC Savana 2500 with 6.6 Duramax. The van started bucking a little so we decided to change both filters. When we removed the filterthey were filled with rusty gunk. So we replaced the filters and primed the motor and it will not start. We have primed till were blue in the face and still no go. The in tank lift pump runs put doesn't sound great so i ordered a new one. Any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

Did you open the air bleeder valve? When you get fuel coming out the close bleeder valve . Then it should go after a couple tries .

The bleeder valve is on top of where the fuel filter screws in. It is little screw like thing that you have to loosen so that the air can be released and once you loosen it tighten it back up and it make take several time but try and restart it.

I did not know this I will have to go and take a look at it again. Which filter is it on, or both of them? I wish gm put this in their manual.

It is on top of the place where the fuel filter screws in. It is in the manual you just have to look REALLY REALLY hard to find it haha. Its a little screw that you just have to loosen.

just adding to the list here but on my truck there is a valve beside the alternator on the passenger side with a cap u unscrew and it looks like a valve stem for a tire but bigger i always bleed mine there and seems to work but idk. if the screw dont work try the valve im talking about. just get a rag and a screw driver and pump the primer and use the screw driver and push the valve in and cover with rag. continue until the air is gone. mine starts after about 3 tries. just my 2 cents
