The dealers around me can't seem to agree on what a 30K service on my 2004 K3500 D/A should be. Heard everything from pollen filter (?) all the way to replacing all fluids in both gear housings, transfer case, transmission and oil change along with new fuel filter to only transmission and oil filter.

Can someone please give me an accurate idea of what needs to be changed? Just bought the truck two months ago and it has 26K miles on it now. Oil readout gives me about 5% life left so I want to do it all at once this time. It was used previously as a short term lease by someone pulling a single car trailer so I want to at least address the transmission.

We use this truck mainly to tow our 37' Paradise Point 5er. 13.5K towing loaded (I generally keep the tanks empty unless a hurricane is coming again http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif ).

And one other note. I live in one of those wonderful neighborhoods where we cannot work on the vehicles at our house. That means if I can't do it in my garage (read no fuler filter change and no mess) then I have to take it and have it done.

I will be putting on a new MBRP exhaust and an Edge EZ module this weekend though...

I did fuel injector flush and new fuel filter, tranny flush, oil change, and radiator coolant flush, and the wynn clean air system for the interior. cost $505.00 at the dealer, I asked them to throw in the wynn clean air system for free and they did. The dealer keeps records, so if you have warranty problems in the future, they are more apt to work with you knowing you are taking care of the service.

Sounds good except I called three different dealers and got three different plans on what needs to be done. Only real dealer around here that specializes in just our kind of trucks is a Ford. (YUK!)....

My concern is if they are all this clueless what will they either 1) miss or 2) do that doesn't need to be done. Trying to keep the warranty intact...

This Isn't exactly on the topic, but you mentioned a pollen filter. I have always wondered if my truck has an in cab air filter. Seems like it mentions one in the owners manual. Does anyone know? As far as the 30K, I am new to diesels, but I noticed in the owner's manual, it gives the service requirements in miles, I think in the back somewhere.
