Yes they do work wonders :) I was so impressed with how my truck turned out I did my wife's car too (brownie points) :)

Yep, first time for me was several weeks ago when I bought a '97 formula firebird, it was real nice, but had what felt like overspray all over the paint, the clay bar made it baby skin smooth! Know I gotta do the wifes traiblazer, the dmax for some reason is smooth (maybe was'nt transported by train?)

The clay bars do work awesome. I've used the mothers clay bar several times with good results. This spring I tried a product that my friend recommended, it's
called Diamondite speed clay. This is awesome stuff. IMO it works as good as
a clay bar but much faster. It is a foam that you apply to the paint then scrub with a special sponge. It cleaned my truck to a very smooth finish. It made putting wax on afterwards very easy. :) I'll try to post a link.

I use meguiars quick clay, and have used mothers also. Both work awesome. I prefer meguiars because it costs $10 vs. mothers for around $18. Just wish meguiars sold it in stores, like mothers. Truly an amazing product.

I've seen the meguiars clay bar at Autozone, however those types of things could be a regional stock item. I've also done the clay bar, it's a lot of extra work, but when your truck is new looking and you can read street signs in the hood reflection it's a beautiful thing.
