Ok guys ive got another staller thread here. Im trying to help out a friend with a 96 6.5 suburban 203K miles. The truck will shut off while driving, both high speed and slow, but he seems to think more so with the slow speeds. When the burb' dies all dash lights and guages turn off, just like turning the key to "off" position. This leads me to believe it to be deff an electrical problem, like the ignition switch. After the truck dies it will start right back up, with no more cranking than normal.

I looked around but couldnt find anything on testing the ignition switch, and was wondering if there was a procedure to do so. I am going to check and clean the grounds for him tonite, but i wasnted to see if anyone else had any ideas of what it could be. Thanks

Several years ago the transmission in mine began to go into limp mode mor often than was a pealing to me!

I changed the ignition switch and solved the transmission issue -- fault tolerant voltage and grounds is everything on these trucks!:D

One more piece of the puzzle...he says it will only stall out at low rpms, never when you are on the throttle
