Hello Guys new to the forum!! great info here,I just bought a 09 Silverado hd2500 LMM
crew cab with 6.5 box,27 gal fuel tank is a poor design imho, no range at all. has anyone upgraded their tank to a aftermarket (Titan brand). this is one of the mods I want to do. it looks like there is only a 44gal availible for this truck? (thats plenty enough!!)I would be happy with a 35 gal!
anyway any input would be appricieted,Also looking a Banks duals exhaust DPF back system, would I have any clearance issuse with larger tank running dual pipes or should I just do the single pipe version?

I've got a titan on my 06 ecsb.I've been happy with it overall. The front support brace they have isn't the greatest but they've made some improvements to it. If you plan on adding a lift pump that would be a good time to do it while the tank is out. Use the search in the upper rt corner for more info on the titan, there's a bunch of threads on it already.

Unsure on that tank if fuel gauge will be off some. More like from the full tank. The gauge may drop to zero while driving because it is not going down as fast as it is suppose to based on a 26gallon tank. Only fix for that if that happens is a tune with EFILive to reset tank capacity level and curve. Maybe someone with one can let us know if they have no issues on stock ECM tune. of course if you tune with EFILive you will be rewriting the ECM and that can cause warranty issues.

I've had no quantity issues with mine. The only thing that's off is the range left indication as thats based on a stock tanks capacity, all other readings are normal. As far as I know there's no way to adjust the tank size in the computer to adjust for a larger tank. It's not in the ecm,it's in the bcm. I don't think efi live is capable of it either.

There are a few tables to adjust fuel level sensor in EFILive. Glad to know no issue on what I mentioned. Seems I read that on 62 gal tank for longbed truck configuration. I now if I use a tune that is for the 26 gallon short bed then my fuel gauge will only goto 3/4 full. Roughly 76% full. the drop slowly and then a quick drop to about 1/4 tank but still have almost a little over 1/2 tank.
