I have read a few posts on the duel controller blowing hot air. Last summer it happened on the driver's side and after running through a series of instructions involving the several modes. It worked and hasn't repeated itself, but the passenger side is another story. It is just blowing hot air. After reading how others have just simply disconnected the controller fixed the problem. Well after doing so.... I guess you can say it fixed it, now it blows cold air but only through the defroster!! No matter what I select it only blows out of the defroster!!
My question... how much is this damn duel controller and does anyone know of a supplier or dealership who is reasonable?
This is getting old and I am looking to fix it for good!

If you have the automatic climate control, once you start disconnecting actuators and checking things out by disconnecting things on the sysytem, the system has to be recalibrated. There is a certain sequence of things that have to be done. The climate control module does not know in what position the all the vent doors are in so it just does what it wants. I would have to go and look it up but I think you shut off the system, turn the ignition off, wait 60 seconds, turn the ignition on and do not start the vehicle, hit the auto button and let the system set for 60 seconds so it can recalibrate., shut the ignition off. start the truck and see if it works properly. try it Charlie

Charlie, you are correct about the system having to figure out positions.
I went out to remove the controller again and follow your set-up instructions and when I went to pull the truck out of the garage everything was working normally.
I just hope now the heat stays off.
Thanks for the reply!

this is great info because I unhooked mine to install radio and now the Auto only blows through defrost. I'll try the sequence and see if it corrects the problem
