I just bought the banks6gun with PDA for my lly but i need to get a new EGT probe i am curious to knowing if i need to purchase the EGT probe from banks or can it be any kinda of EGT probe. I tried to contact banks but they haven't responded back with a answer. The EGT probe that i am looking at is a standard K STYLE.???

I would get the one from Banks. I have an Edge and it came with the Pyro. I'm not sure how the Pyro's work, but I know that certain gauges work on an individual ohm resistance. The fun part is installing it!

Yea i know what your saying i am just trying to save my self some time with having to order one from banks. when i was talking to BD diesel they werent sure about the resistance through the egt probe with the banks. So i am wondering if i should just try it out and see how it gose??????????? but thanks for the advise:)

Hey, if the diameter and thread is the same as the banks, why not try another probe? I deal with gauges all day long at work and I know that Fuel and Water temp gauges all use there specific senders/adapters specific to ohm rating/resistance.

I finally got a e-mail back from banks today and the tech told me that using a K STYLE EGT probe for the banks six gun will work great. :D Anyway thanks for all the advise watrboy.

JUst thought i would let everyone to know that using the K Style probe works great install the banks with PDA on the weekend and i am very happy with the results.
