: Hot Xcelerator Has Arrived!!!!!!!
PEANUTGRWR 04-26-2005, 01:06 PM FED EX JUST DELIVERED MY HOT XCELERATOR TO ME. AS SOON AS I GOT MY PAWS ON IT I UPLOADED IT IN MY TRUCK, AND WHOLLY **** THIS THING IS DAMN SURE IMPROVED TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVENT HAD A CHANCE TO TEST IT WITH A GTECH, BUT BY SOP IT FEELS QUITE A BIT STRONGER THAN THE QUAD/OJ STACK. IT WILL STACK WITH THE HOT OJ ON MY TRUCK UP TO LEVEL 4 ON LEVEL 5 THERE IS SOME SERIOUS BURSTING GOING ON AND I DONT WANNA "JUICE" THE TURBO ;) . IT SMOKES LIKE A FRIEGHT TRAIN, THIS THING IS GONNA LOVE NAWWWWWWWWS :ro)
ecc_33 04-26-2005, 01:29 PM keep us posted. i am interested in this chip. this is the new 330 horse right. i asume this is for a lby too
PEANUTGRWR 04-26-2005, 01:40 PM Its The Newest Version Of Ppe's Hot Xcelerator For The Lb7
Got Juice? 04-26-2005, 01:41 PM THERE IS SOME SERIOUS BURSTING GOING ON AND I DONT WANNA "JUICE" THE TURBO ;) . :ro)
Chicken!:funnypost :joke:
Turobs are hard to find on Ebay now...... so i know i can't be the only one here that blew the snot out of a couple.:D
McRat 04-26-2005, 01:55 PM Would be VERY interesting to see dyno #'s.
Micheal Tomac 04-26-2005, 01:58 PM 330hp/600tq @ the flywheel with 20% drivtrain loss = 264 rwhp / 480 rwtq
330hp/600tq @ the flywheel with 25% drivtrain loss = 248 rwhp / 450 rwtq
McRat 04-26-2005, 02:15 PM So it should go 490-510 on the dyno.
Mackin 04-26-2005, 05:37 PM 330hp/600tq @ the flywheel with 20% drivtrain loss = 264 rwhp / 480 rwtq
330hp/600tq @ the flywheel with 25% drivtrain loss = 248 rwhp / 450 rwtq
Are you going to try one and see if it will give you more fuel for the ATS turbo?
Or am I to late ;)
duramaxdiesel 04-26-2005, 08:56 PM Wow it pulls harder than the Quad 215/Juice stack:eek: Oh George.....Tom.....I think you guys gotta get one for my truck):h
PEANUTGRWR 04-26-2005, 10:32 PM Ok Im Back After Having The 12===========pack. I Could Be Wrong, And Belive Me If I Am Im Sure The "resident" Experts Will Correct Me-----but Isnt Bursting Usually Based On Fuel Demand. By This, What I Mean Is The More The Demand Is For Fuel, And The More The Demand Isnt Met Then Bursting Occurs? If This Is True Then When Running The Quad/juice Stack On The Top Settings I Dont Have Bursting. But When Running The Ppe/oj Stack On The Top Settings I Do Have Bursting, Therefore The Ppe Is Putting More Fuel To The Fire Than The Quad/oj Stack Right???????? It Only Bursts On Level 4 On Juice. Ive Learned In The Past Few Minutes That The There Is A Test/tune This Weekend So Ill Get To Compare Them First Hand.
Now To The SeconD 12 Pack :muahaha:
Jim659 04-26-2005, 10:37 PM I sent mine back last week, I can't wait to see if the change is that dramatic.
Mackin 04-27-2005, 05:38 AM Close enough Peanut go back to drinking. :)
But what I've read is the second Quad tune of 215 which is part of the 10 tune package will do the same when stacked with the Juice. So they are probably very close in output
I do believe we are at the end of the line until something can be done with fuel rail pressure supply drop off causing the FRPCV to close.Seems it will be tuff to find the balance between being able to substain a idle not cause leaks or other problems but yet have the desired flow when needed.
Well I haven't heard of anything yet that will.
Are you running a Pump at all? Certainly it helps some, not to say it will correct your bursting as the program may ask to much as some stacks but it does help. You will notice the additional tailpipe smoke once installed.
Means more available fuel
PEANUTGRWR 04-27-2005, 08:46 AM Mac, My Quad Is The Latest And Greatest ;) Im Running Super Diesels Lift Pump Kit As Well. No Bursting With The Quad On Either Of The 215 Tunes And The Juice On 5x5 :). So I Dont Think The Ppe And The Quad Are The Same Animal
hdmax 04-27-2005, 08:57 AM Percentage of loss should drop as the power is increased. correct? If this is true, then 630 hp should have a lower percentage loss then 300 hp will have.
300+330=630x.85=535.5 rwhp
520+600=1120x.85=952 rwtq
I would think this should be about the hp this new program should give, if they are correct in it being 330 fwhp.
Some stock truck numbers have beed closer to 260 rwhp and 450rwtq. I have seen/read these numbers so some trucks have a powertrain loss closer to 15%, So it should be possible to see powertrain losses in the 12%13% range when we use numbers like 630 fwhp, and 1120 fwtq
300+330=630x.88=554.4 rwhp
520+600=1120x.88=985.6 rwtq
I seriously doubt that we will see anything close to these numbers.
ecc_33 04-27-2005, 05:39 PM i talked to ppe last friday and they said anywhere from 470-500 hp's to the wheels
ecc_33 04-27-2005, 05:39 PM And they said smoke like a freight train
ecc_33 04-27-2005, 05:40 PM maybe a good nitrous chip ;)
McRat 04-27-2005, 05:45 PM Bursting is not as simple as just demand I think. I bursted yesterday on the dyno at 430rwhp, then switched tunes, and did not burst 442 next pull. Nor did I burst at 457 or 466hp.
Not sure what's going on.

Sure it does with timing and injector cycle. Some programs mix the right amount of each, decent numbers. Some single programs have and can do it too.
Some VA boxes if I remember correctly to name one have bursted alone.
Biterman 04-28-2005, 09:50 AM all I know is 99 percent of the time the rigs (and rice rockets) I encounter on level 3 are not even a contest! Extreme tune is insane but I end up limping the trans after a few seconds. Need to beef up the tranny or stay out of extreme tune....

Got to speak with Joe in person at Irwindale Speedway, REALLY cool guy giving tips and knowledge to all of us who were there.
His bronze truck is damn fast too, he ran a 7.91 8th mile while there tonight.

I don't understand! You say the PPE is DEFFINATELY stronger the the Quad/Hot Juice combo, yet you ran 4/100 faster with that combo, and you didn't run on HJ level 4 or 5.
The way I see it, 4/100 is a wash, but you still had two levels to try. Sure the PPE looks very strong by itself, in fact it`s 28/100 faster then the Quad alone.
What are you best times with the Hot Juice alone? And are these other runs your best with those programs?, If not, what are the best times?
PEANUTGRWR 04-30-2005, 09:47 AM Plain And Simple The Ppe Is Stronger Than The Quad. The Quad Oj Stack For Me Got A 13.6? I Cannt Run The Juice On Level 5 Or I Get Bursting, So I Could Actually Go Up Only One Level. I Havent Gotten Any Times With Juice Alone-----thats No Fun. These Are The Best Times Ive Had So Far :)

Mike look at the mph for true power.
The juice slowed him down when stacked w/ PPE.
i do think mph is good indicator for hp , but torque would be represented at how hard it pulls this is why some tuners run strong mph but the same 1/4 times, with my runs even though i put down strong 60fts i did this with both tuners identical , yet my overall times were the same with a pretty consistant 1 mph difference.
hdmax 04-30-2005, 01:21 PM Mike look at the mph for true power.
The juice slowed him down when stacked w/ PPE.
I know what you are saying, but mph just as time can be off depending on how the driver drove from the get go. And maybe the Quad could get you up to speed quicker then run out of top end, or visa-versa.
If my truck can go 110 mph in the 1/4 but have a time of 13.0 sec, while your truck goes 100 at 12.9, who wins? the faster truck, or quicker truck? Power don't mean squat if it isn't helping! :exactly: To me, if I am running 1/4 mile, I want the quickest way to get the run over with, even if it tops out at 80 mph. and 4/100 is a wash when comparing different power addons. There can be more then that in driver error. Sure the PPE won this round, but not by enough to call it a defente edge.
Dmax Tim 04-30-2005, 01:30 PM I'm just saying that the 60' makes or breaks the ET, the mph is still the best indicator for max power.
Even deep staging screws up your ET.
I know about the fast ET and slow time, had a stock 402 BBC in my car and dad was running 9.5 @130mph 1/4 mile passes, not enough rpm to go past 1000'.
BTW I'd much rather have the 13.0 @ 110mph since the power is there I would need some fine tuning ,tire pressure, shock/spring adjustments to be mid 12's :ro)
gassers, not all conventional wisdom applies to 4x4 diesels

Several CC trucks run int the 12.9 - 13.2 range with the Xtreme only. Dmax Doug is a CC short box with a lift kit and tall tires and runs ~ 13.0 at sea level and ~13.2 @ our local 3000' track. He uses his truck daily and has won several truck pulls as well. He had to remove the spare, tail gate and empty the junk form the cab at the pulls to get down on weight for the 7500 lb class, so I know he is at least as heavy if not heavier than you. Just so you know everyone pays the same price for an Xtreme whether your a moderator or not. Last time you called you said it was too much but if you had bought one long ago you would be faster now and saved a ton of money! The HOT PPE is what....$1000, the Quad ...... $750, The juice......$800, The duramaximizer...... $600. I think the Xtreme at $1295 is still a bargain and the Quickest and Fastest programmer on the market and the only one that let's you switch "on the fly" between power levels.
is the 13.24 @101.56 in wihucks sig from the same race last night with carbon04, he is running the xtreme right, same air as carbon04, same size tires as my truck, whats his weight? 60ft? carbon04s truck sounds like it is one of those special trucks. how did ratlovers truck do?

I can't speak for others, but I was given a PPE tune for testing. I have been given other tuners for testing as well, and others I pay for. If I can get them for free, I do. If I can't, I buy them, test them, then resell them.
When someone gives me a product for testing, what that buys is "preliminary review". I tell them what I think of the product before sharing the info. And if they say OK, then I share the results. When the product is released for public sale, then the preliminary review period is over.
Did PPE give me a tuner in exchange for a favorable review? Nope. Matter of fact, I trashed the first PPE LLY tuner earlier on, even though I tested it for free. At the time I was not interested in running it. When given the opportunity to test an improved release, I tested it again and reported the results.
I have always reported how modifications affected my truck in an honest mannor. My goal is to find out what works best on the LLY's and I have been very free in sharing that info. While some might not agree with my opinions on products, there are a lot of LLY owners that appreciate what I do. I get 20 or more PM's a week concerning my opinion on LLY mods I've tested.
hdmax 05-01-2005, 01:19 PM arent the great lakes above sea level? Yes! For the most part, but I don't know the numbers. Here in Ohio the elevation has the lowest point of 139 m (455 ft), that lies at the Ohio-Indiana border on the Ohio River. And the highest point is Near the northern edge of the Till Plains is Campbell Hill, with an elevation of 472 m (1,549 ft).
I may be off a foot on each end, but no more then that. The mean elevation is about 850 feet. You have to check with someone else about other States in the Great Lakes area.

ratlover 05-02-2005, 10:48 AM First run of the day was a 12.74 IIRC Tires aired up and the ranchos set all soft.
Last time I weighed my truck I was 6730 with me in it and nothing removed. I have added traction bars and my liftpump setup with armor and 15# bottle. I yanked my spare and my tailgate and left out my tire change tools(figured they wouldnt do me much good with no spare and I was to lazy to put it away:D ) I didnt completley clean out my tool box and has roughly the same or maybe a bit more junk than the last time I weighed. I wish the scales were open but no dice:( so I dont know exactly what I weighed.
Track seemed to go away as I got there(bout an hour after daryl) but my best time of the day on #2 was a 12.61 but I'm not sure if its 100% accurate since it also said I cut a mid 1.50 60' and that sure as heck couldnt be right.
My driving sucked, launching was all over the board, running around 12.70's or so all night, some 12.80's On a good launch I was in the 1.70's Way too much boost way to little, 2 redlights(one was .004) I pretty much sucked it up:o:
I know Daryls secret though but I'm not telling;) ........ok.....I confess its all in the dumbo ears):h I woulda had him if it wernt for my mirrors):h

That 1.5 60 foot time would be the best one I have ever heard of. I think the ultrafast 11.22ish North Carolina runs were around 1.58 60 foot times.
What does the diesel smoke do to the beams at your track? Anyway it could be altering the times?

Actually it was a 1.531 now that I have the slip. The 60' is not valid. Something is fubar and I duno if the rest of it is valid or not. A few of my runs had wonky 1/8 MPH's and other anomolies.
hdmax 05-02-2005, 12:57 PM I hate to be the one to point out this miss print, (Not really, I love it!) But you are not the only one, as Powermax has 9 settings of power, and 9 setting of torque that can be changed on the fly. Also, the Juice/Atittude, and Hot Juice/Atittude have switch on the fly if I understand what I read.
NO ONE ELSE OFFERS A SWITCH ON THE FLY PROGRAMMER.
ratlover 05-02-2005, 01:44 PM The mentioned boxes are boxes not programers or downloaders ect. No reason to argue terminology though, switchable is switchable although I dont know of a box that can run with the big programers. I believe PPE advertises thiers as being switchable but I have heard that its not?
Edit: Dont mean to get all testicle on ya, but I figured it would get pointed out sooner or later. No flames intended :)

YOU SEEM TO HAVE SELECTIVE MEMORY, YOU NOT ONLY CALLED ONCE BUT TWICE AS WELL AS THE PM'S! YOU ASKED FOR A DISCOUNT AS YOU STATED YOU HAD ALREADY SPENT TOO MUCH ON OTHER UNITS. NO LIE JUST FACT! JUST LIKE OUR PROGRAMMER , ITS THE QUICKEST AND FASTEST SINGLE PROGRAMMER ON THE MARKET AND ITS BEEN PROVEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN. CARBON 04 AND RATLOVER BOTH HAVE POSTED THERE TIMES AND YOU AND YOUR PPE,QUAD,JUCIE ARE NOT EVENT CLOSE SO WHY WOULD I TURN IT MORE?

Bronco 05-02-2005, 09:33 PM I know one way to end every argument permantly.
Steve put your tunes in a removable/restorable downloader. Keep it the same strength and switchable.
Throw in some user input like tire size changes. ( it happens).
Price it under 1000.00 dollars.
I think at that point there would no longer be any discussion. Untill then there are OBVIOUS pros and cons to every electronic power adder available.

_nar_ 05-02-2005, 11:28 PM Steve-So you are saying that someone could buy the powerloader 2 right now and install it, then run a switch to the pcm and be able to change while driving? I hadn't seen that on here since everyone always talks about buying another computer or sending theirs to you.
Mike L. 05-02-2005, 11:31 PM nar
Special switch comes with the Powerloader2. 3 positions depending which program you bought. Spare computer is for dealer visits or playing with other programs.
hdmax 05-03-2005, 11:30 AM I understand what you are saying, but if the item produces more power/torque, I don't care what it`s called! Programmer, box, module, They all do the same thing, so if it can be switched from one setting to another, I don't care what it`s called, it`s switchable. I am not trying to argue, just giving my opinion.

?????????
Diesel Tech 05-03-2005, 09:51 PM Yes, we have been selling it this way for years. You have two options for power settings when you order. The standard unit is Economy, Tow and Race. 30Hp, 80Hp and 120Hp. Then there is the Xtreme............ it comes with the Tow, Race and Xtreme programs. Als necessary switch and wireing is included with your purchase. You can buy and extra ECM if you want to have a stock one for dealer visits.
Steve-So you are saying that someone could buy the powerloader 2 right now and install it, then run a switch to the pcm and be able to change while driving? I hadn't seen that on here since everyone always talks about buying another computer or sending theirs to you.
_nar_ 05-04-2005, 12:14 AM You need another ecm because once you use the powerloader you can't uninstall it? A one use programmer? No setting for tires or whatever unless it was ordered with different size tire setting? If it is a one use programmer can you still use the predator to set tire size or will it reject that?
Diesel Power 05-04-2005, 03:00 AM Nut- my trucks a slug- 7300lbs race weight. before the last sled pull i weighed it with toolbox, (only the bottle in it), tailgate, no spare tire, plus one 100lb weight. came out to 7600lbs. i drop my tailgate when i race. i used to remove the toolbox but not anymore as the bottle's in there.
my best ET with extreme is 13.2 #2 only, 12.3 w/ nos.
PEANUTGRWR 05-04-2005, 09:16 AM JUST CURIOUS NICK, WHAT WOULD THAT ET BE AT 4000 ELEVATION?
PEANUT,
were your times at this 4000FT elevation?:)
Trippin 05-04-2005, 07:19 PM I don't care what the Altitude is. Tell me what the Density Altitude is. My local track is at 2710 ft elevation but routinely shows a 4,000-5,000 ft Density Altitude. :(
http://www.lacr.net/week.html
PEANUTGRWR 05-04-2005, 08:07 PM Times Were @ 3500' But The Density Was Near 4500'
Diesel Power 05-05-2005, 03:12 AM i'm not sure peanut. i have never factored that in.
JUST CURIOUS NICK, WHAT WOULD THAT ET BE AT 4000 ELEVATION?
Bronco 05-05-2005, 10:34 AM Trippins correct, density altitude is the only way to go. True measurement of your air right then and there.
There are no accurate correction tables for a Duramax Turbo diesel. I can tell you this.
A 30 HP tune is slighty noticable in a 7300LB truck. A 50 HP is noticable. A 70 HP tune is very noticable.
When I travel down from 5000 feet to 2000 feet The power increase is slightly noticable.
When I travel up to 10,000 feet the power decrease is noticable.
So I do firmly believe a turbo diesel is effected by outside air conditions. How much in terms of % or HP? Depends on your setup.
Now how much a turbo diesel on N20 is effected??? I have no idea but I am sure it is less than a non N20 motor. Once again depends on your setup.
