I have a new sound coming from the top of my turbo. It only is there when i start up and idle up to 1500 rpm and when its below 40 degrees. It sounds like a vacum sound and goes away after its warm and only between 1500 and 2000 rpms.

I added 4 inch exhaust this summer from the turbo back, could that be the source of the sound ? Its a 99 F250 2 wheel.

Make sure all your intake hoses are secure and tight.

When I straight piped my old Ford, the EBPV drove me crazy.Sounded really bad,so I finally just disconnected it. I would be at a truck stop, and people would be saying,"whats wrong with your truck"?

Exhaust Back Pressure Valve.

It is used to add backpressure when the ambient and engine temps are cold enough, aids in warming the engine up quicker.
