I was fooling around with my '03 yesterday and discovered a problem. Under WOT acceleration from a stop, the truck wont shift gears until I let up on the throttle. If I hold the pedal down, it must de-fuel and holds about 3000rpm. If I let up a bit, it will shift and away we go again, up to 3000 and it does it again.
It will do it on the highway passing too. Under normal driving, there is no issues.
I have only had this truck for about 3 months and really dont know that much of its history.

A friend of mine had a similar issue with his. GM is aware of the problem and apparently it is some "cluster" that they replace. Might want to give them a try.

I dont know, I bought it from a Chev dealer, so I assumed that they changed it before selling it? I have put about 17,000km on it.

I was thinking of changing it anyway. Will pick one up tonight.

A new fuel filter has been known to solve this problem.

I changed the fuel filter tonight. Then, I took the truck for a ... er ... a drive! Problem all gone! Three sets of 6' blackies indicated that.:muahaha:
