: I finally got my new wheels and tires, thanks Discount Tire!
dtibbals 04-29-2009, 05:45 PM I was not planning on getting new tires right now but went ahead and did it anyway. I bought the American Outlaw Buckshot wheels in 16" and Goodyear Duratrac P265/75/16 E tires. I have to say they look awesome!!! My truck is really dirty right now and the pics are with my phone so I will get it cleaned up and take some better pictures soon.
I will say that my first impressions with the new Duratrac tires are awesome! They are super quiet and a hell of a lot more quiet then the Brigestone Dueler Revo's that I had on the truck. I am pretty surprised because the Goodyear are a lot more aggressive then the Brigestones. I was suprised driving down the highway that I could not hear them at all over the engine and turbo.
The wheels look great and the finish on them is really nice. The pictures do not do them justice at all. Tomorrow I have my Bilstein Zinc shocks put on, the pitman/idler arm braces (thanks NorCal) and an alignment.
Here is a pic before and then after. What you guys think?

ColbyColorado04 04-29-2009, 06:05 PM I just saw those same wheels the other day and am considering them.......I've got about three now I just cant make my mind up on.

I had it down to 3 as well but I went with these because they where 16" and most are 17" plus they are only $109 each which is pretty much half the price of any 17" wheel that is similar. Tires are a bit cheaper and easier to find in 16" with an E load rating as compared to 17 or 18" tires.
I am very happy and would buy them again.

ColbyColorado04 04-29-2009, 06:12 PM Yea, of the three 16" those are the cheapest as well......not by much so thats not really gonna be my deciding factor. My biggest issue is finding the Backspacing for the tires im trying to tuck in there. Talked to them last week and he has a couple 16" not what im looking for, but he's will to mount the tire to see what Backspacing will work the best for me. Pretty good customer service wise if they are willing to take the time to do this for a customer. They've always treated me right though.
(did you buy their lug kits or someone elses? I see they sellem for 45)

These do not have the backspacing my older wheels had (I think about half) but they are a different design. They fit and sit on the truck the same as the old ones. they stick out in the front just a little bit which is the stance I like.
I did go with their lug kit, my lugs where shot. They also give you the tool to take them off with a tire wrench or impact gun. It is an extender so you do not damage your wheels.

CyPhoth 04-29-2009, 08:38 PM Looks very sharp!
TIM Z 04-29-2009, 08:45 PM Those look Great. I was looking at those too but wanted 17'', they said they didnt have them in an offset that would work on the truck.
Glad your happy.
ColbyColorado04 04-29-2009, 09:02 PM The backspacing is going to be my biggest issue I think. Trying to tuck 315's in there. Im willing to do some trimming to the inner fender bumper ect. if need be. But dont know how its gonna turn out yet. I need to put my green keys in first to get the truck back up where it should be. 1000lb boss Vblade on the front for two winters (stayed on pretty much all the time) took its toll on the Tbars and the factory keys are maxxed out but pretty much at stock height. lol

Actually the store I went to called Liquid Metal who makes the wheels and they do have a 17" that fits our trucks. I decided to keep the 16" since they had already gotten them. The discount tire computer does not show the wheel in their system as fitting but after they called the manufacture direct they found that they do work with out any issues. I really thought about doing the 17" but tire choices are more limited plus the tires and wheels are each a good $20 or so more so it would have added around $200 to the total bill. I decided 16" where fine, I have to say they look really good!

Hey good to know, I am out in Naperville. My truck is at the shop right now having pitman/idler arm braces, new Bilstein 5100 zinc shocks all around and alignment. I will stop by and have the torque checked tomorrow once I put a few miles on.

Looks great! Thank you for sharing wih us. We appreciate the support. Keep us posted on the DuraTracs. These tires carry the E.C. noise symbol which means the tire passed tough european noise standards.
Thanks for the info! Do these have a 3 year warranty?
The chrome finish comes with a 3 year warranty. Dtibbals purchased the black machined finish which is 1 year :)
