i just noticed that my truck in my sig has an engine temp gauge that is labeled with 3 temps. 160 - 210 - 260 and they are evenly spaced apart.
so why is this strange?
my previous sled for 5 years was a 2000 tahoe z71 classic body style. the engine temp gauge looked identical, but had 3 labels in the same evenly spaced places reading 100 - 210 - 260. i have *always* figured that the signal sent from the sensor had a 'curve' to it, such that the needle moved the same distance for the first 110 degrees as it did for the next 50. so, i interpolated a guess as to what the dashes between each label might have meant, but i did not know the curve, so it was always a guess. i did think it was strange, but figured there was no way it is mislabeled.
is it *possible* that they screwed up and mis-labeled the 160 as 100? i still have the tahoe in the garage and looked again. any guesses? or... any certain knowledge?
