I have a D-max that under load or heavy excelleration vibrates in the driveline, has anyone else felt this? I have a 6 speed, not sure if that adds to the vib?
I was told it is the rubber mounted bushing on the split of the two piece driveshaft that is to soft and under lots of torque allows to much movement in the shafts. Any one else heard of this? If so is there a cure? :help2:

when i lifted my 1500 HD with generic square blocks from auto parts store.... I got the same vibration... goes away after 1st gear???

do you have it lifted?

definately something to do with the angle of attack from the pumpkin to the drive shaft or perhaps like your friend said... the carrier bearing is too high/low and is making an angle the universal (?) joint cant cope with.

Been there done that.

It is driveshaft wobble, centered around the carrier bearing.

I made a little spacer to put between the carrier bearing and frame. Problem mostly gone.

The goal is to get the two pieces of the dshaft to be as even as possible.

Keep in mind that when you get a payload in there, the angles will change, and the wobble will come back. My truck is stock ride heigth, so my spacer was about 3/8 in thick. There is still a slight wobble unloaded, but its all gone when I get a good payload......

I just used straight stock steel, drilled my own holes.

Past experience says U-joints are bad.

Easy to check..pull the driveshaft (easy) and check the joints for smooth operation...no sticking.

I have no lift kit, but did lift the torsion bars some.

Is there anyone making a better bushing for the hanger bearing?
