I'm installing a 6' CST kit (with Air Lift) and can't find a shank drop longer than 6 inches (1200/12000). I have a Reese Dual Cam HP Weight Distribution system.

What are you folks using?

I saw a Master lock adjustable hitch at Wall Mart. It looks pretty nice.

Will one of these (http://www.putnamhitch.com/Trailer%20Hitches/highlow_bars.htm) do the trick? It looks like they have them all the way to 11 3/4" drop

I know of this once place here in Orange County, CA called Aggressive Suspension(tel# (714) 632-9001 ). They make up to a 16" drop. I have a 12" lift on my truck and I needed a 16" drop and that is the only place I found oen @.

Denali02 where are you from?

I wanna be a "Liftedhdrado" when I grow up!!! You have a nice rig. I may regret going with 18's w\6" lift but I'll give it a try - baby steps ;)

How do you like your AMP eSteps? Mine came in today so can't wait for the CST to arrive too. I'm way north of you in SF bay area.

From an engineering point of view:

IMO, a weight distributing hitch on a 16" drop adapter is not to be trusted. The torsional forces on the receiver would be equal to placing 10,000 lbs of twisting force on a breaker bar, to turn a 2" bolt. Sooner or later, something is goign to give, and it won't be pretty :badidea:.

This is why the longer the drop, the lighter the ratings stamped on the commercial adapters. I maintain that off-road trucks make poor tow vehicles. Gearing, suspenssions, and tires are rated for much different performance specification than design specs. for heavy towing. The stronger you make the ball, adapter, hitch, etc, the more twinsting force is sent to the frame, and none of the hitch makers want to pay for straightening out truck frames.
