I might be way off, but I sometimes wonder how many new vehciles they sale because of a recall? It shows they care plus it gets you to the dealer.

Just wondering if it helps?

"GM, the world's largest automaker, said the largest of the recalls includes nearly 1.5 million pickup trucks and sport/utility vehicles with second-row seat belts that may be difficult to properly position across passengers' hips.

The possible seatbelt defect affects Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab, Suburban, Tahoe and Avalanche vehicles from the 2003-2005 model years.

It also affects Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, GMC Sierra Crew Cab, Yukon XL, Yukon and Hummer H2 autos from the same model years. "

difficult to properlty position?? what the heck does that mean?? ive never noticed a problem. oh well, i will bring it in and get them replaced. anyone know what the difference in the new belts is?

I think there may be a problem, but it seems to only effect overweight people. Normal sized people jump in the back seat of my truck and have no problem buckling up. There's a lot of chunky butts in my family that I end up having to reach around buckle in.

This recall further supports that the 01 3500 CC truck was still a good purchase. Who says the first year model is a bust....... I am void of any recalls...of course cannot forget about those tailgate straps.):h

I also noticed they lost 1.5 bill dollars last quarter. Sounds like they need new managment and some new style cars and trucks. Everybody is sick of the same ole same ole from gm.

For rear seat belts????? Big deal. This is nothing like the problem with the old outside-frame saddle fuel tanks that caused fire/explosions with side impact crashes -:t

Don't get into too big of a hurry. GM still hasn't released any new recalls regarding these vehicles, to their dealers, and likewise they haven't stated the cause or correction of such a recall.

The recall is related to that little rubber band looking strap on the center rear seatbelt. It was designed to keep the belt from falling down when you fold your rear seats down. They think that it may hinder the belt from being in the correct position around your waist in the event of a crash.
Dealer fix... they're going to cut it off. I'm just cutting it off and saving GM some money so our trucks are cheaper.

What?
They have produced more new models in the last 3 years then any other manufacture in the world, and that doesn't include all the face lifts they have done over the last 4 years.

Like what gets said, if changes are made often, people bit(h and say they do it because the older one didn't sale, and when they don't change models, people bit(h about boring old models -:t But 15 new or changed vehicles in 3 years plus several face lifts ain't enough I guess! :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:
