From ~Anderson CA to Grapevine CA. Mileage per exit signs and speedo = 413. Fuel = 22.76 gallons. Speed 70-73mph. 285 tires at 60psi.
Huh? Why is that special? I had a 2000lb trailer behind me, and about 400lb in the bed. Engine mods = Airaid intake, 4" straight pipe, PPE Hot LLY tuner - 426rwhp (mileage was same with VA LLY on the way up). The tuner brand really doesn't affect fwy mileage.
The reason I posted this was that I tried to measure the actual point-point freeway mileage at a normal speed (I usually drive faster) with no mountains, no city driving (1 rest stop). I wish I didn't have the 22' flatbed with me, but normally when I go long distances I'm towing something.
Could I have gotten the number higher? Sure. I went up to 90mph several times passing or smoking out my friends, could have skipped the rest stop, and could have left the trailer home (we didn't actually need it).
It also answers the question if mods give you worse fuel mileage. Nope. If anything, better mileage.
