From what ive seen and researched, they were once good, then when word got out about their cheap prices they could simply not meet demand with the same quality. Often times one set could produce two different colors etc.. Im not getting into a pissing match with everyone that has DDM but from personal experience with 4 sets (for just headlights and 2 sets for fogs) they still couldnt manage to get em right so I gave up. They still havent given me new ones even though they were under warranty....thats another subject. There has been many people I know of that have had these probs too and they just arernt on here. Try some of the BMW forums and see all the mess they are in there. Read the sticky at the top of this section for good retailers. There are some good ones out there but remember you get what you pay for. If you want a set never to worry about again once you install them then build your own set with Phillips componets. I have had the same problem they were never what I was told they would be and crappy construction ie. loose connections, flimsy. I would buy knockoff ebay ones before DDM again. Oh and I also tried to return mine to get what I paid for and no luck. Buy from someone who stands behind their product.
