I wasn't sure if this should go in the jokes forum cause it is kinda funny or here cause there is a turbo there. (find it)
It seems the driver tried to throw his chain over the load & caught a power wire. He said the tires melted imediatly. He is one lucky SOB. :D

Must have had his wheaties for breakfast that day. That must have been quite a blaze judging by what little is left of the truck.

something aint right here,.. the amount of voltage,. amperage etc,. would turn that "chain" hook into a ground short, which would burn thru the overhead wire (after i magnified the pic,.it doesn't look like any chain i,ve ever had) so if the " chain " and over head were able to sustain this ground short,. electricity like water would find the path of least resistance etc,. and would not come anywhere near the cab,. i,ve seen dump boxes hit overheads, and blow the tires off an axle till the rims hit ground ( current travels down to the rims then jumps the gap to the steel belts to ground yes flames shoot out of the tires,.) causing the ground short,.but didn't make things hot enough to combust,.

I think I erred with the "chain". It is probably cable.
If the wood was wet, would it conduct & combust better?

Phantom 309, I too have heard of the tires blowing off a crane after coming too close to a high voltage line.

As for the pictures... Mamzerook, you should know better. Is this why we haven't seen much of you lately? :D

Time for a little experiment, go on out and cut a slice out of a tree (green wet wood) and try and set it on fire using electricity,.;)
