Im sure that someone has asked this before but ive searched for a while and cant seem to find it
Is there and way of turing up the boost with the stock vacuum pump??:confuzeld
or is TM the best thing.
If i can turn up the boost w/ the vac pump that would be great tho,
Thanks

you can turn up the boost by adding in a boost fooler into the MAP sensor circuit. I believe it's a 10K resistor. I haven't made on personally but many here have. This boost fooler does exactly what it's name implies. If fools the computer to see less boost than what is actually being made.
The Tm makes the boost more consistent, but you will lose a MPG or 2 as the boost doesn't cut out at highway speeds like it does with the stock vac system.

i still have the vac waist gate and im pushing a steady 13 lbs all i did was removed the air box put a k&n air filter in then put a heavy throttle return spring in conjunction with vac accuator to help hold the gate closed and opened the exhaust up

Wouldn't By any chance have some pics would you?

Freak has the ticket. Just add a spring to the existing lever going to the waistgate. And do the boost fooler trick

Does anybody know how to make the boost fooler?

You're Welcome ;)
And it's a 10K potentiometer, not a fixed resistor Dave :p:

I am running the Heath TM set for 15-16psi max and when I am cruising down the road at 60-65 mph my boost barely registers on the gauge if at all unless I come to a hill. I actually gained about 1 mpg running the Heath 2.0 chip. I have the GL4 on the way and it will be interesting to see how that works out.

i will put a pic on tomorrow today i put a stiffer spring in than what i had i now push 14 to 17 pounds @ 2700rpms then dumps off after that.

finally got the pics off my phone and on the computer so here is what i did. i used zip ties so i could adj the tension. i could not find a scale to measure the sping tension tho. all i can tell u bout that is it is heavyer than what u think. the way i figured it out is i had a buddy hold the rpms @ 2000 then i seen how much force it took to open. i then got a spring that i thought was stiffer. hoped this helped u out detroit it is alot cheaper than going with a tm about $100 cheaper
