Anybody running this program for diagnostics on their 6.5?

http://www.digimoto.com/

Looking into as an alternative to going to the dealer or finding a MT2500

Are they accurate?

I know I can't change anything with it, but I already have laptop and/or IPAQ, and this would let me know what is going on...???

opinions please...

Ask them if it will work on gm diesels. at that price it's four times cheaper than the ease program I have, so if you get it please tell us how ou like it, I'm still looking for an OBDII tool.

QM, have you looked at any of the scan tools and such at summit?

Make sure any tool you look at isn't just a fancy reader, you need bi-directional tool that can actually do some diagnostic tests, & not just read codes or paramaters to be worth money IMO, best is T2 or direct T2 clone, MT2500 has it's limits, Auto Enginuity's new laptop tool holds promise, several members on the Page are Beta testing it and seem to like it.

I disagree. My ease scanner lacks bi-directional capability and I'm still able to accurately time trucks by moving the pump, verifying 8.5* des/act on the tool and manually initiating TDCOL, and as the notes suggest engine above 170* no DTC's present, the ECM will automaticly relearn tdcoffset whether initiated or not.

Now if you can get the softwre to read a few parameters that beats the pricy professional units were a guy may only use it a few times a year.

Okay I'll ant'e up and call your disagree with my disagree what cards you holding :D .

Here is my logic if you are in a financial bind, reader tool only has some merit, but there are many used but good bi-directional MT2500s can be found for not much more coin than a reader only tool, the ones I was mainly referring to though, are the primitive but expensive ones that just read codes be especially watchfull for those, as Autozone & others carry them and you can get them to read codes for free, so don't buy a code reader only tool read fine print functions of any tool.

One like you have data & codes is good, but I still recommend holding off until the Auto Engunuity proves out; from what I read it might be best compromise, a Bi-D tool at significant savings over other tools bought new/new used price (only negative is you need a laptop or laptop access to use it) but laptops if you don't have one aren't inexpensive either.

Bi-directional allows for physical component test, like shutdown sols, AC, throttle, gear shift, gear hold, TCC lock, data movie capture while driving, 4x4 engage/disengage, time set, (Also TDC offset isn't automatic learn on ALL years), WG & EGR test, plus MT2500 works on ALL domestic vehicles, it isn't optimal there are still some things it won't do that has me looking at AE's tool, to compliment my MT2500.

Just my opinion if shelling out bucks get the best tool you can afford, I have seen MT2500s for competative pricing on ebay, also many Snap on dealers will carry discounted used but good MT2500's that were repos, or trade credit on newer model scanners.

Thanks for all the comments...

I did find out that digimoto DOES support the gm diesel as long as it is OBDII, it is only a scanner NO bidirectional support. Thanks for the heads up on that one Turbine and what else bidirectional can do. I ways going to ask but you beat me to it!

The big dissapointment to me is the ONLY support offered is through email no phone number to call.... (anyone else come to mind there:eek:).

I guess that I will have to save save save and be patient, the auto inginuity looks good just $100 more that I can justify right now, we are a one income family and the truck is kinda a toy. (I commute in a company provided vehicle) I have to have darn good excuses to buy new toys to add. She is still not over the 4 inch exhaust
