It all of a sudden started making a wierd noise. Rode it out for a while thought it could be bad fuel, no change. Finally carried it to the dealership they said I had a weak injector. So they replaced the injector and the fuel filter, oil and filter. Solved the fuel knock sound it was making, but it is still sounding like a lifter, it is really noticeable with a little bit of a load behind it. Any thoughts out there.:confused:

Any thoughts out there.:confused:If this sounds pretty smooth, I'd think detonation (pretty common with these) would be the issue. If it is pretty stuccato (lacks good rhythm), I'd do another cross check with the dealer. They may have fixed one only to find another ... or you might be right on the lifter. Does it do it at road speeds and temperatures? Consistancy across temperatures would probably reduce the probability of anything having to do with lifters and raise the likelyhood of injector issues.

It is very noticeable at higher speeds on the highways, it is not as bad first thing more when it warms up. Like i said it just came back from the dealer, i am also not even running my edge. The mech. at the dealership says that they cannot here it. But the thing is i have had it for 60k mi i know every sound it makes and it sure is not a regular noise.

I forgot to mention that it is very noticable at idle and take off also.

ditto. and now I wonder if the noise is in my ears not my engine :rant:

my dmax makes a really systematic clicking someitmes at idle, its acting pretty wierd. Dunno, i dont have the chip in or anythign and it makes alot more black smoke than normal.
