Just looked at a cooler that is coming out in the 06 D/A. Its 22" long, 8" high and 1 1/2" thick. Looks very much like Mike L's cooler in the way the tubes and fines are made. It will mount a little lower and the lines come in from the front instead of the bottom.

Cool!
Was there a reason for them to increase cooling efficiency Gregg?Us Hot rodders are looking to Mike for our own reasons but I was wondering stock.

I wonder if GM didn't opt to install the 4500 cooler in these trucks? I have a 4500 cooler that I bought for study and it sounds like the same size as what you posted. I sent this cooler to Setrab to see if I could build a better cooler for the 4500. Their answer was no because of the crazy tube fittings. They did say that my cooler was more efficient than the 4500 factory cooler. I also know that owners of the 4500 series trucks are not happy with factory cooler ( this comes straight from GM ) under load.

It might be a 4500 don't know. As far as construction it looks close to yours but without it being side by side its hard to tell. Do you know where I can see a picture of the 4500? I could then tell for sure.
The worst part is if it is and yours is better, then yours will not be a direct drop in as it is now because of the cooler lines.
