my mothers 2002 chevy trailblazer's ses lite came on. so i scanned it with my predator an came up with [p.0440 evap control systems malfuction] is there any place on the net that can tell me what it is? would like to find a list of all the codes for gm vehicles. thanks

I think that its just a code thrown if the cap isn't on tight enough... It's an evaporative emissions code (manufacturers don't want any gas evaporatives to escape into the atmosphere)...

that code means a large evap leak was detected.obvious thing be a loose fuel cap but Ive seen the fuel tank fill neck cracked that will set that code.if thats the problem it should be obvious,look where the fill hose connects to the fuel tank and look for signs of leakage.

seen the fuel neck crack also. many times, can not beleave no recall.
