I need to know if the dimensions Chevy gives for the width of the dually bed is correct for the "classic" bodystyle. Chevy site lists it as 96.1 inches. I don't have truck with me right now, but am looking to make an offer on a house. Garage door width is standard 9 foot. Does anyone put theirs in a garage? Builder says it will fit, but there are no Chevy's in the year range of mine around that I can try to check. I want to make sure it will fit, as this is a deal breaker for me.

The rears are not wider than 8 feet. A 9' door would be tight but should be doable. Make sure you have the length in the garage.

8' is maximum width of any light duty truck and trailer without permits. If the door is 9', you will fit but tight

My doors are 9 x 9. They only thing to watch is the mirrors, if the are all the way out they do hit.

Just curious, once you get the truck parked in the garage, how do you get OUT of it?! I can't imagine ever getting my dually into my garage. It simply would never fit.

actually it's 102" or 8 1/2 ft without a permit

Even with the mirrors in (the camper mirrors) they stick out 1 1/2" past the dually fenders on each side.

I back mine in and move over towards the wall good and tight so that the driver door opens to the center allowing all kinds of room between me and the wifes trailblazer. The passenger on the other hand has to get out in the rain and walk into the garage.:)
Oh did I mention that my side of the garage is 30 feet deep to accomodate the 21-22 ' long truck.

Actually..... Your bed can be 102" wide. But your wheels on ground can't be outside 96" total width. Sooooo you'll have like 3" of fender/bed covering each side. :D
But really, what cop is going to measure that?

I have a double garage, and park mine in the garage when it is not full of junk. I think we built my garage 24 wide by 26 deep. I pull as far to the right as I can, and my wife parks her BMW 528i as far as possible to the left. It leaves enough room to open the drivers side doors almost all the way. Like a previous poster said, the right side passengers have to get out in the rain before I pull in.
The most likely problem will be the garage being long enough. Many garages are only 20 to 22 feet deep. It is a deal breaker for me too. I walked away from a great house because my pickup would not fit in the garage, and ended up builing my own.

It will fit but it is tight. I had about 3/4" on each side mirror and had to pull forward all the way till I touched the wall with the front bumper but it worked. I did this for about 1 1/2 years till I parked my camper closer to the house and made it too tight to back out and make the turn without having to jockey it a few times. I just moved it over to the 36' x 48" pole barn with 16' doors and it fits a lot better.....

My doors are 9' wide and I fit with my dually. The TTT mirrors come closer to the door jambs than the rear fenders do.
