I just installed my new Banks Ram Air Intake to my truck today. The instructions were very detailed and it was a breeze to install. There was only one problem - the Super Scoop is intended to rest flush against the bottom air spoiler and on the 2004 Sierra there is a 1/4" lip on it. I had to use a dremel tool to cut away a peice of it in order for the Super Scoop to sit flush on the spoiler. I thought it would be helpful to know if your considering purchasing this system. Otherwise it is great and I am ready to reap the benefits.. I have included a few pics for you on the mod.

Looks good! How does it perform? Thanks for the post.

I'm interested in buying a scoop for my truck also. Did you get it later or with the intake? Did you notice a diff? I have a Ranch bumper that sits way higher than the factory bumper, does it look like it can be shortened to accomadate the difference?

You can do it wither way, buy now or later. Look up LarryJewell on the board here, he has a scoop and a aftermarket bumper.

I have that lip on my 07 classic! Am I going to have to cut my truck to accommodate the scoop. Never read anywhere I had to cut the truck.http://home.comcast.net/~lorne.serpa/images/bumper.JPG

Added my bumper picture.

I purchased the intake and the scoop together. I have used it very little but it seems to make a diffrence in how fast the turbo spools up. My main concern will be how it imporves my fuel economy and towing performance - I won't be able to test those until I use it this week.
Not sure if you can shorten the scoop. I imagine you could cut some off the top where it connects to the air box.

It does have adjustment on it. Mine has the lip too and I didn't have to cut it. I think it is acually supposed to mount up to the lip. But mine didn't even come close to the lip. So I just bolted mine on instead of using the pins they give you.

Yea, I thought about doing that too but decided to try and make it as flush with the plastic as possible.

I added my picture above. So it will somehow mount flush with the lip there? Sounds like I will have to cut to make flush. Anyone have a picture with it attach and the lip still there? I'd like to see that.

Hard to see but mine is still there.
