i took her to the 1/8 mile track last night for the first time, my best run was 8.91 with a 2.18 60' at 77.7 mph. my slowest run was 9.3 at the same mph with a 2.4 60'. its a 2wd.... so that tells me its all in the 60' times.
so i guess i need help with launching it, there must be a better technique as my 60' times sucked ass. i set my staging with efilive to 15-1600, and leave at 40-50% throttle, try my best to roll into slowly, usually shifting into 2nd at 80% pedal then floor it once its done with either axle hop or spinning during the shift. id like to know how the other 2wd guys launch to figure out a better way. i was also thinking about airing down the tires, will this make a decent difference? i felt the g80 let go halfway through every burnout, this makes me think im probably getting a one wheel peel off the line. is there any hope for the g80 with maybe some fresh fluid, is it worn out or do they just suck? i considered a 2nd gear start, but i figure that would be a bad idea with a stock converter... as for weight reduction, i have a huge peice of steel the previouse owner used as a home made 5th wheel hitch, i could probably drop 200 lbs losing this and the tailgate but will that do more harm then good being that the weight is over and behind the axle?
