I recently bought a 3500 dually cause I want to pull a gooseneck 16 x 8 dual axle dump.
My question is:
What is the best hitch for the job?
I still want to use the truck to haul when not using the trailer so is there a hidden hitch option or is the regular hitch easy to remove and re-install
Thanks

Of the "Hidden Hitches" available I have tried a couple and think the B&W is the best. http://www.turnoverball.com/
I purchased mine at http://www.sixrobblees.com/Search.aspx?Exp=Y&TB=TAB4&sNode=139&CategoryId=139 I found they had the best price around.

I have a larger dump trailer than that.... 5 ' sides. Any of the gooseneck hitches will work fine with it. I went with Reese and have had no problems at all.

This is what I have.

I'm running a B&W turnover ball. Pulling a 18x8x5 tri-axle dump trailer (20,000 GVW). BrakeSmart controller makes stopping the big trailer effortless.

I have this on mine, http://www.drawtite-hitches.com/goose_fold/remove_gooseneck_hitch.htm
Works great, remove the ball, magnetic cover goes over the openings, bed is fully usable when I'm not towing.
