I wouldn't dream of running anything with a negative offset. H2's have +18mm and with 285/70/17's they just barely clear with tieing back the liner. If you would run a 8.5" wide wheel with 5.5mm of negative offset you would need to cut almost a full 1" out of the fender to get the liner out of the way.

The negtive offset wheels are for trucks with lifts. Even with a 4" lift you'll need to stay at a 33" tire to clear.

sorry, not trying to high jack someone elses thread, but i ran across this one and thought it fit in, i'm thinking of running a wider rim so i can run slightly wider wheels something like a 16x9 or 16x10. what back spacing would i need. i like the look of the wheels being about 2" outside the wheel well and i don't plan to run a tall tire. 265's propably the most in height.

I wouldn't run 265's on anything wider than a 8.5" wheel. They were a bit stretched on my 8.5" H2's.

I would aim for something in the 5 to 5.5" of backspacing. This won't stick out at all, this exactly what you don't want to do. On my H2's (5" of backspacing) with 265's I had less than 1/2" of clearance to the liner. With 2" sticking out of the fenders you'll have to cut the crap out of your fenders.
