Well my father in law had to try to one up me... went and bought a 05 dodge cummins (learned my lessing on the spelling), crew cab, 3500, 4x4. Sharp looking rig. Haven't ridden in it yet. Doubt I will for a long time.
I guess I better prepare myself for the... my truck is better than yours lecture I always get.
reviewing the last threads we've had on the subject. He's already dropped some lines to my wife about it. Oh well. We'll see how it good it does for him and I hope he doesn't get a lemon. It's kind of why he finally broke down and bought it since all of his other trucks were tanking due to old age. He turned 60 and retired this week so I'm happy he finally bought the truck of his dreams... I don't have that patients had to get my now...

He's so embarrassed he hardly shows his face here anymore. That tells you a lot!
So tell F/I/L :badidea:

You should ask him if he has a VIC (very important customer) card at the local tranny shop since they can barely handle the stock hp and torque.

You definately have the better truck, now all you need is a juice and it will really make him second guess himself.

In my opinion, the Dodge is a great truck. I have two friends with them and they love'em. The differences I noticed are (and this is only an OPINION):
- The 2500 Ram has a stiffer suspension. I spend huge amounts of time in my rig and like the GM ride much better.
- The back seat appears to be smaller with a little less leg room.
- I like the rear lighting on the Dodge.
- My Sierra seems to be a little more luxurious.
- The last two Chrysler products I had ('99 Grand Voyager and '97 Sebring Convertible), although designed well, have cost me mucho $$$$$$ in bad engineering repairs (sensors). Just my experience, which kept me away from another Chrysler product. My two friends have not had any problems with their trucks, though.
Compliment your father in law and support him and he will probably not give you any grief. My friends made the right desision for them. I made the right decision for me.:)

i'm a gm guy..but when i was shoppin, there was a lot i liked about the dodge...michelins, a real gas tank, humongous seat that puts you to the moon, dodge folks are the style leaders no doubt....bigger wheels..the cummins is indestructable..my final decision was based on noise..and ride....was not gonna live with the dbs the cummins puts out..even the quieter version..later
