I'm looking into buying a gasser so I don't run into a situation where diesel fuel is 30 to 40 cents higher than regular gas like it was a few months ago. I've narrow my choices to the Chevy Avalanche and Chevy Colorado.
I like the Avalanche for its midgate design and convertability between a SUV and a truck. However, with gas prices approaching a possible everyday price of $3.00+ per gallon, I like the Colorado for better fuel economy but I'm a little hesitant of the new I-5 engine in its first years of operation. I still remember the piston slap issues when GM redesign the V8s for the 1999 model year.
So, I would like to know what kind of gas mileage you are getting on the 5.3L Avalanche or Silverado. EPA for the 4wd version is 14/18. Thank you in advance for your responses.:)
