I just picked up a 93 GMC 3500HD and I plan on doing several mods to the 6.5 to improve the reliability and efficiency. One of the first things will be the exhaust.

I was curious if the kits for regular 3500s will fit my HD since it is a solid front axle instead of IFS. I have heard the HDs are actually a 4500 chassis, so I want to make sure before I buy a kit.

Any help would be appreciated.

the 3500hd has a taller frame and the front frame horns drop way down in the front for the spring hanger and has the eaton rear, it uses a regular cab and almost all parts are interchangeable, i took a 93 c3500hd 6.5/4l80e dump truck that got swapped to a 454/4l80e and put the exhaust from a reg cab k3500 454/th400 and it all bolted right on so i would say the diesel exhaust would have the same result.

You might have to modify some of the hangers, but pipe wise it should all be the same.

It is a challenge to find an exhaust for our dually's. It took me at least 11 hrs of research to find one and i actually found a good one, it is called a diamond eye exhaust its a turbo back system, deletes the cat, it runs about $289 i don't know what shipping would be but i will tell you later today I am calling diamond eye today.

He's talking about the C3500HD. You're talking about a normal C/K3500.

I'm going to have to agree with Matt that the pipes are probably all the same and if anything needs modded, it's probably going to be hangers.
