I have noticed a bad smell in the cab of my truck every once and a while coming from the vents. It's almost like it's an exhaust smell or something. Does anybody have an idea of what it could be? I've read that the exhaust can smell sometimes when injectors are going bad but would I be able to smell it in the cab? Thanks.

is it when you are running heat? or when ac?

have you tried to blow out the vents with air?

im not sure on where the heater unit gets its air but maybe you do have an exhaust leak and its picking up some of the exhaust when you have it turned on?

Check the long black rear engine bay seal, the one that mates with the back of your hood. The seal can push out at the middle, allowing engine bay odors into the cab intake vents located just in front of your windshield.

Yea, unfortunately I am riding alone! Can't blame it on anyone but myself. I'll check the seal though and make sure that it isn't pushed in. Thanks.

I just changed the oil today and used 15w-40 rotella. I forgot to check that black seal though.

Another possibility is the rear cab vent(s) may be defective. Located at the back of the cab in the airspace between it and the bed. I've not experienced it myself but recall several threads on them when this forum was new ~ ~ ~
