I did do a search before this post and came up empty handed.............

My Engine light is on. The truck runs fine, no issues. It came on in town (2,800 ft) after returning from the hills (4,800 ft) cold and snowing. The only load I have is a Polaris 400 in the back. I cleaned my KnN air filter 2 months ago. The fuel filter is 1 year old and I just capped my turbo muffler 3 weeks ago.

The question,,,,,,,,,,, can I use a jumper wire someplace to make the engine light flash the codes like can be done on the 6.5L??????????? Or do I just need to take my butt to the store and get a reader?

I'm not aware of any way to read the codes other than with a code reader or tuner.

I use my Predator to read codes.

I've also seen posts here on DP that Autozone will read your codes if you take your truck to one of their stores, but I have no experience with this.

The fuel filter is 1 year old ...

Either you don't put a whole lot of miles on your truck or you don't like it. I'm lucky if I see three months out of a filter before I have to change it out because of mileage.
