My friend has a 02 ext cab short bed Dodge with 105,000 on stock auto transmission right now. He has gauges, 5" exhaust and snowplows. Would like something good and strong enough so when he goes to add some power it won't bother it. Also since he snowplows he doesn't want to have truck stall everytime he needs to change gears. He doesn't have any power adders right now but will be getting something in a while. He told me today that he since he's upgrading it soon he might as well do it good so he won't have to worry about it. He doesn't pull or beat on the truck he just wants something that will last a long time and will hold up to some more power and plowing in winter and also some occasional gooseneck pulling. Thank's Adam

Adam, IIRC there is a DTT Dealer Close to your friend
Link on my Sig, and have him call to find out who and where they are.

Anymore suggestions? He isn't going to make his truck into some high powered pulling beast. He just wants something sturdy enough so when he plows in the winter and pulls my neighbors gooseneck he won't hurt the truck any. He is going to eventually add a small box or something also.

he will not need the billet input/output/intermediate shafts.
Have him get the Towing VB and 91% Convertor.
Then call it done

From DTT Got Juice? Probably wouldn't hurt to change the clutches and steels since it will have close to 110,000 on it probably when we change the internals. He said he might as well get a triple disc since he's doing it right. What kind of converter would be good but not stall the truck when you put it in gear? My neighbors truck would stall sometimes when he would put it in gear after we changed all the internals and put a Suncoast converter on it. My friend does not want that, especially for plowing.

Sounds like more of a valve body problem with your buddies truck stalling. Your not talking about regular convertor stall correct? That should not change from one shift to another. matt

Matt, He had a Suncost converter in it, Since your part Dodge/Chevy could you tell me about some ATS stuff my friend maybe could get for his truck since he hasn't done anything yet. Just like I said above he plows and sometimes pulls my neighbors gooseneck. Has three pillar gauges and full 5" exhaust. He doesn't want full bore pulling truck setup, he does want something though that he could add some power and not worry about tranny going.
