My 03 D/A died on me lastnight. I backed out of my parking space and went forward and the engine just died ,it was pretty late so i left the truck overnight. Came back the next day and disconnected the edge harness and plugged it back to stock harness and tried to fire truck all it would do is crank. I then started to prime on the lift pump a few times and started truck again it ran for a few and died again. So i primed it again and started the engine again and the truck ran fine drove it to my shop and changed the fuel filter. it seems that whenever the truck sits for ten minutes it will not start up again but if i prime it, it runs fine. it dosent seems to have a miss or anything however at idle it kinda surges right before the engine dies.i have eliminated the Edge to be the cause. there does not seem to be any codes, but when it started up in the moring after i disconnected the edge my SES light was on and none of my instrument gauges worked but the engine did not limp. so i disconnected the batteries and the problem went away. Could the lift pump be losing prime? I just changed the old filter 10K ago. Oil level is fine and water level is fine also. Please advise Thank you.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/help.gif

There has been a problem with cracks in the filter housing causing a loss of prime.
