I cannot get it started I opened the bleeder deal on top of the fuel filter and pumped it til steady fuel is coming out and still cant get it started. Edge is on their would that cause a problem?

After you prime it try giving it a few extra pump's after you close the vent screw. Pump it till it get's firm and then try starting it.

If you know you ran out of fuel then the edge shouldn't be a concern but you can disconnect it quickly enuf if you want to give it a shot.

well finally got it going, now my fuel gauge doesnt read at all. low fuel light on and gauge is on E, dunno if the sender is bad or I need todo something?

Good thing you did not have a 6.2 diesel.
Priming that thing is a pain in the arse.
