Im looking at this truck and its very oily. The guy asking $3995 for it and I was wondering what you guys think about the 6.2. I dont want to buy a peice of junk, i herd alot of horror stories about the GM diesels. So i thought id ask the pros for there opinion. It looks like its leeking everykind of fluid it has. I dont know the milage but im sure it high, at least 180,000 from the looks of it. So if you guys could give me your opinion I would really apreciate it.

Some leaks are easier and cheaper to fix than others. 6.2s are prone to leaking out the rear main seal, tranny lines, coolant from various places, powersteering fluid, brake fluid. Expect that if you do buy it it will need some work and $$$ right off the bat. His price seems a little steep for that year model in that condition, best bet is to take it to a garage, Fuel Shop preferrably, and have them look it over for you.

Myself, It would depend on the truck application. If you haul heavy loads. The 6.2 may be a bit under powered. I tow a 24' boat (7000 lbs with trailer) and it is fine for me. I don't hit to many highways. On the open road plan on grinding down to 55 or below (under load) on a hill. The truck is a bit pricey. Compare to an alike truck on ebay..... Maybe?????

Another thought.... If the truck is leaking every kind of fluid, I would be inclined to pass unless you have the $$$, Time, and know-how to fix everything. It sounds like their could be something more to this truck than just leaks. It would seem that nothing was repaired and you would be inheriting problems, not to mention the vocabulary with buying a piece of #$&^%. Personally, it would have to be a great deal. Millions of trucks were made, get the one you'll be happy with!
