How many Purple Gang members are out there?? Those with ATS driven rides speak up!

Historical Note;
Here in the Detroit area in the early 1900's, a group of enterprising youths on the lower east side took to general thuggery and street crimes, eventually graduating to hijacking, bootlegging, extortion, kidnapping and murder, ruling the Detroit underworld from 1927 to 1932, this loose group of misfits were known as The Purple Gang..

I've got the Suncoast III kit, but added the Co-Pilot and pump upgrade last Friday (big thanks to Mike L.) to add holding power and improve shift quickness. Two days & two trophies later, I have to say well worth the investment. The interesting thing I noticed at the Norcal pulls was the shift speed & early converter lockup really helped get going and keep up the momentum while at partial throttle (slick track). You can hear several trucks fall off the power band between shifts.

Your going to see alot more of this.Just One of the reason I decided to go full ATS this time.
The Suncoast would shift ok, but draggy in some exchanges.

Look for a RED Crew Cab in CT to be running a similiar set-up very soon........:cool:

Should be a very interesting summer............especially when the NOS gets added......:eek:

Was it the Co-Pilot that needed the wire soldered to the gauge cluster? Is that still needed?

Mac do they have an alternate installation for the green wire? I've put off soldering mine, I know of someone who ruined his dash attempting.. I have a solder tool and an itchy solder finger..

I run mine to a switch instead of the gauge cluster. The switch just needs to be able to ground that wire in order to get into kick a$$ race mode. I also installed an indicator light and use that same switch to run the ground through. So when i flip the switch, the light comes on, and i know the switch is grounding the co-pilot and i'm in race mode. Matt

I had heard that it was just a ground, so it's true.. I may have to do that. I guess I'll just have to be sure I don't leave it on when I stop.. I'm assuming it will stall the motor??

dpfcummins

Nope dont worry about shutting it off, it will unlock. You can leave it on all you want, stoplight to stoplight. Matt

It's the blue wire that gets soldered to the t/h connection on the dash.
