I added a half tank into my Van this morning....It sure quiets the motor down.

I changed the fuel filter last week...any suggestions on when I should do it again?

Anything else I should I know?

I paid $2.09 a gallon at Western States Petroleum for the B99

Probably pretty soon. Carry a spare with you & when she start's spitin & sputterin change it. Hopefully after that the bio will have washed all the crap from your fuel system its going to & you will be ok.

You should also add something for lubricity, that dry stuff will shorten up the life of your IP.

I've been using silver power service....will that suffice?

B99 (biodiesel 99%) should have plenty lubricity.

The ULS Diesel is the one with poor lubricity.
2% Biodiesel added to ULSD should have enough lubricity.

Check the additive lubricity study in the Maintenance & Fluid section.

B99 is better than ULSD, but could still use alittle help, PS should do fine.

You don't need to add anything to bio for lube. Bio itself is the best lube available. That's been proven:

I would continue to use the PS, or another additive, for the purpose of keeping the optic sensor clean.

You used the right approach adding only a half tank, so you are about B50. When people have asked me I suggest they run B20 for a while before going to higher concentrations, just avoids the filter plugging issues a bit, but as long as you keep a few spares in the truck you'll be fine.

As others have said just use a cleaning additive, your Power Service silver is fine for warm weather use. No need for lubricity additive, you've got all you need!

I've run Bio and SVO since 2005. When running B99 I recommend you replace the stock filter after the first 1,000 miles. Always carry a spare. Bio really cleans your fuel system out and if your vehicle is high mileage it will take a few filters to clean everything up. After the first filter change do it again at the next oil change. Personally I change the stock fuel filter every other oil change. Amazing the amount of crap the Bio cleans out of your fuel system.

For an additive, I like Biodiesel Fuel Power as it's formulated specifically for Biodiesel.

They make a Winter treatment too.

Frenchfry: Is this stuff ok to use in a heated SVO conversion? I'm looking for an additive to combat any chance of coking. I run my veg at approx.180 so I should be ok but I would like to add something just to be sure.

Maybe try some of that cetain booster they make may calm it down even more. And keep another fuel filter in the van. Maybe change your oil.
