so we all know smogging is coming to ca in 2010 and what do we need to do to pass. I know if we are deleting dpf or muff or cat thats a must and turn them back to stock programming but how about things like lift pumps, airboxes, downpipes, manifolds, turbos, duel fuelers or cut up airboxes etc and the list goes on. For me example. I thought that if i put back my factory exhaust, stock programming and unplugged my lift pump i would be fine. My buddy has me super worried telling me that with my bd manifold, diamondeye downpipe, and cutup airbox iam not going to pass has me thinking. If I need to take off all that stuff i feel like i might as well leave everything off then and just keep it stock from here on out. Any info from anyone would be great. I dont know if its been discussed or if i should start bending over now for uncle sam:mad: thanks shaun

Shaun, what I had to go through in Nevada was a visual inspection of smog equipment (IE, no blocker plate, cat intact, muffler intact, visual smoke etc...), dyno run to 2500 rpm's for 75 seconds, iirc, and that was it. I took my 03 Cal emissions truck to get smogged with my Edge turned on, no cat and still passed.

As far as the other mods go, the tech would have to have a sharp eye to catch any of the other mods done, especially the BD manifold and the direct pipe. The lift pump should not cause problems either, why would it...?

Put it back to stock as far as the exhaust and tuning goes, and be done with it. Don't buy problems before they happen brotha.

thats what iam hoping to hear chad thanks. My buddy was pretty convincing with his arument thats what got me to worry. I thought the same thing as far as the manifold and down pipe. Duel fuelers and turbo is somthing that iam curious about though. What level edge were you running it in. My buddy has a 6.0 so i guess he cant be the smartest guy on earth about this stuff:D. What the hell you doing awake over there isnt it like 1am over there???

I meant to say plugged in on 0 level which still messes with timing...

Since there is no law yet for 2010, it's more speculation right now than anything. I find it hard to believe that they could implement anything before 2011 at the soonest since we are already 4 months into 2009.
