I slipped fifth gear the other day so I know it not a matter of if, its when I'm going to have to bite the Suncoast bullet. I have found a couple of LB7 allis around that I can pick up for about $500. I've searched and so far I know that the bellhousing is different from LB7 to LLY but I want to know all the differances. I don't want to pick up one of these LB7 allis, build it up and then not be able to put it under my truck.

You will need a valve body with G solenoid. Late LB7's had them.

So if I can pick up an 03 or an 04 I'd be okay then? I'm guessing that an 01 or 02 wouldn't be worth it with all the extra parts that you'd have to get for it?

G Solenoid was added with a small add-on body on the bottom of the valve body with the 2004's to provide main pressure modulation. You'll want a S/N of 6310307722 (Indpls) or 6320269500 (Baltimore) or later to get this.
