Truck is a 2002 completely stock 6.6 w/ Allison 59,000 orig miles.

Here is what happened; Went out to start the truck this morning, it was about 40-45*F, to let it warm up. Started it up, let it run for about 5-10 minutes and was gonna move it to the driveway to load some things. Put it into drive from park, nothing, truck would not budge. Continued to try all the other gears, still nothing. Checked the tranny fluid, it was a little low so I topped it off. Still no dice, it would not move. We had to get going so we left it and decided to work on it when we got back from town.

Events leading up; The truck had been parked for about 8 or 9 days with out being started or moved. The battery was dead so we had to jump it to get it started.

When we got back from town; The truck started right up, and shifted into drive, no problem. We let it run for about an hour or so and it was like it never happened.

Any one know what this could be? I am happy that it is working fine now, but I do not want it to leave me stranded somewhere someday.

The torque converter more than likely had the common drain back issue. Search here on that to read about it. This is my thoughts as to why since sitting for several days.

My only other thought is if setting for that long maybe the batteries were low and some modules did not wake up at the time. But I doubt this is it but last idea.
