I am considering purchasing a 2004 GMC Sierra slt 2500hd with the 3.73 rear end. The truck has approximately 47,000 km(29,000miles +/-). It has the lb7 motor. My concern is with the apparent cronic injector problems the 01's to 03's are having. Are the 04's any better? Do the replacement injectors cure the problem? Any help or constructive ideas would be greatly appreciated. I presently tow a two horse angle haul trailer with a 95 2500 Silverado 6.5t automatic with a 3.73 rear end. But the old gal really struggles on the steep grades out here in the west.

oh man... that's a loaded question...

tons of info throughout the forum.

my thoughts... you have a 200,000 mile warranty on your injectors, and if you have bad ones, they will go bad before that. don't worry about the injectors.

you will love the truck.

Don't mean to steal your post, but what year trucks are covered under the 200,000 mile warranty?

any vehicle could break down. you simply cannot worry about it. just deal with it when it happens, if it even ever does. my 04 lb7 is simply an amazing piece of equipment. wil

When I bought my '04 LB7 I knew that the LLY was coming. If I had it to do again, today, I would still buy the same truck. Well, except that I would get the crew cab and the 4X4:rolleyes: .
Post the VIN in the tech forum so that you can see the warrenty history.

'01's and '02's. I believe it's just for the injectors, someone with the extended warrenty will correct me if I'm wrong.

I would go for it at the right price and add a Nicktane fuel filter plus use a fuel lubricant. Did you find out why its being sold with just that many miles on it. Good luck on what ever you do.

I have an 01 with 111k and runs perfect. No injector issues. (NOCK ON WOOD) If it happens, to the dealer it goes for new injectors
