: Something Leaking. What to do?

I am just in the process of swapping out my exhaust (cat delete) and when I got the truck up on Jack Stands I noticed the rear shaft of the tranny appears to be leaking. I have 40,000 miles, and I am still under warranty (I think) but I am making mods that will piss off the dealer. Eliminating CAT, and I've already made other mods like EGR Block, PPE.

My question is. SHould I run this to the dealer before I swap the exhaust? I've been waiting forever to get a couple nice days to swap the exhaust and down pipe. Or should I continue swapping the exhaust and then run it up to him?

To clarify, I say "I think" I am under warranty, because I've heard horror stories about dealerships trying to avoid warranty work for aftermarket mods. Even ones that wouldn't apply to the problem.

Where is the leaking coming from exactly. Is it up on the bottom side of the cab? It could be the pump rub issue or it could be the freeze plug style plug in the end of the drive shaft yoke that goes into the transfer case. I have heard both will cause the leaking I have talked about.

It is definitely the Transfer case. But it appears to just be the very rear where the shaft comes out and connects to the rear drive shaft. I've already pulled my stock exhaust and put on the new Cat Delete 4" Diamond Eye system. I wonder how much greif I will take from a Dealership for that? I don't think it is pooling there from the pump rub issue, because it only appears on the far back, but I could be wrong. I've got 40,000 miles.

I've got the same problem and I've read alot of other threads about this problem. Mine appears to be leaking from the actual seal. Looks like there is a a weep hole in the boot (rubber part that extends onto the yoke/shaft) and thats where it seems to be leaking from. The weep hole supposed to be there?? I've also searched for a picture of this freeze looking plug but it doesn't appear that it has ever been posted. I looked at the end of the yoke but there isn't any oil there, rusty look is what I see but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Gonna check the vent tube for kinks and I've already checked for pump rub, so far so good... Anybody able to post a picture of this freeze plug on the yoke?
