: The 5" exhaust is freakin massive........
RUNNINHORN 04-22-2005, 06:40 PM ........kudos to CRAWLER for the fabulous install and work he did on my truck over the past two days. I picked it up and cannot get over the jet like sound it makes and the freakin huge size of the 5" straight pipe exhaust. He put some gauges in, Bullydog programmer, Blocker Plate, and man it is a completely different truck. So far its been fantastic, cant wait to run my boss in it tonite for a C-Note!:ro) :ro) His stock cummins is gonna be in for a rude awakening!):h ):h
SethMcKinney 04-22-2005, 08:44 PM Nice -- what size is the down pipe? I keep trying to find out if that part makes a difference.
McRat 04-22-2005, 08:46 PM Might have to put a screen on the end to keep the possums out. :D

jnieberlein 04-22-2005, 10:53 PM My summit 5" is 4" pipe in the front then 5" the rest of the way, and it is a mother to put on by yourself if it dosent fall off tommorrow on its madian voyage I will be happy, if you do it yourself I highly recomend enlistng the help of a friend if you dont have a friend rent somebody for a few hours, and dont try and do it your gravel driveway in the pouring down rain (it wasn't raining when I started but it sure was when I finished), other than that 5+ hours later I got it together. An man does it look sweet sounds different but not loud, if it would only quit raining so I could put in the blocker plate and my finger stick oh well there is always tommorrow......:ro)

Crawler 04-23-2005, 11:13 AM Good job Matt. I'm glad everything was to your liking. Since you picked it up at midnight I know it was a little tough to see the install on everything. So, did it all meet your requirements on cleanliness?
Glad to hear about your bosses demise, maybe he'll change his mind about leaving the Cummins stock.
Later,
Wes

Yea Wes, it's now a blast to drive, only one small issue though or question more likely. I had two people point out today at work the A-Pillar setup. They noticed that it was slid over or place over the stock A-Pillar, and made mention of the brad-like fasteners and that it looked kinda "cheap" that way. I hadnt noticed it before, and currently have the OEM paint on the way (ordered it last night) but was wondering, is there any 2 gauge A-Pillar setup for these trucks that is a replacement and not a slide over? Is there one that doesnt use the brad-like fasteners and mounts flush and clean? Just wondering, if so, would like to go that route......other than that i cant seem to keep my foot out of it:muahaha: :muahaha:
and the boss may be calling you soon, told him your specialty was modding the "cummins" :D
Crawler 04-24-2005, 12:58 AM Matt, all of the a pillar setups are done that way. The other option is to epoxy the cover to the original a-pillar (this eliminates the pins). One final option, though not cheap; is to mold or glass the two pillars together to eliminate the seam where they come together.
Later,
Wes
RUNNINHORN 04-24-2005, 10:49 AM cool, I think i will want to go the epoxy route. Will i need a new a-pillar? Do they make one without the holes in them like mine? How much more $$$ is molding them together? When i bring it back over with the paint whenever it gets here, ill have you take care of it, just shoot me an estimate on both those options..........
