has anyone paid particular attention to what different psi characteristics have been on this setup?

i just put on a brand new set, and put in 45# out of max of 50#. i usually try different things until i find what i like, but i'm wondering if anyone has opinions already?

thanks.

Not that set up but I am running 315/75/16 on Weld Velociti 8's and use 45 up front and 40 in the rear.

I run 42 in front and 32 in rear. When towing, I put the pressure up to 50 on all 4. Currently have around 45k miles, trying to squeeze another 5k before replacement. I do adjust preasure as the tires are wearing to concentrate the wear on the part of the tire with the most tread.

I do like the tires, good wet and dry traction.

even with 60k miles rating, it seems that 50k would be pretty good usage. i'm a freak about proper rotation, pressure, shocks, alignment, etc. i'll be rotating through a set of 5 with the spare, so it's good to hear that they lasted you awhile.

sounds like i should soften them up a bit in the back. this is my first pickup, so it sounds like when empty, keep em lower in the back?

thanks.

empty
40 front
30 rear
rotate every 5k

Loaded
depends on the load. Did 50 and 50 once. I'll never do that again! felt every pebble/crack in the road.

Your fuel milage will suffer with lower pressure. I used to run 45psi in cars I have owned, No unusual tire wear, a little slipppery in the rain and you do feel every ant in the road, but it's all about MPG!

Oh yeah...50# is too much for these. They get a bit squirrelly at higher pressures. I found that out quickly, then reduced pressures.

I ran them at 42 front, 35 rear.

The truck was loaded when I did the 50 pound thing.

Even at 40 and 30 with a 5k rotation the centers are wearing faster than the rest of the tire.

I run 35 to 40 all corners with good wear. I rotated them at 10K then 30K. I should hit 50+ easy.
